Nice views from the house.

Boulder is tucked up against the Front Range. If you have been to Denver you know why it is where it is. The folks in the conestoga wagons got here, looked the Front Range and stopped. Likely saying "this looks like a good place to stop" - with lots of nods --- since what lies ahead is a wall of mountains.

The house sits in the foothills of the Front Range, up a little over the plains, facing east.

On an overcast day.

I was out with the dog at a local lake -- she's a water dog and loves to swim. As we are having fun, it starts to rain a bit, then it gets more intense (but Ariel didn't care), then way to much for me, so we got in the car and headed back home -- only to find ourselves in mostly full sun. These shots show where we were. ( the ground level grey streaks on the left of the photo is the rain.

On another day driving back from the lake, it was sunny, but the weather down valley wasn't.  These views are back toward the area known as the flatirons (more on those later).  The town of Boulder if located close to the flatirons (we are about 15 mins N of boulder center city)
