We have traveled the main and back roads of a lot of the west. What is most amazing is the vast amount of open space, and areas in which there is nothing to speak of -- just a road and a lot of scenery. The scenery could be huge fields of grain, high dry desert, distant mountains, rolling hills, etc,. Although we enjoy the distant views, it is still amazing that there is nothing there; no houses, no ranches, no people, an occasional railroad line. You can often see for 20-30 miles when you are up on a ridge somewhere.
So, on the drive from Sun Valley to Boulder, there isn't much, just the scenery. It is very hard to take a picture in most cases because you just cannot capture the scale of what we are looking at.
But, we stopped in one location and took the East, West, North, South views.
In the middle of the road - NO chance of getting run over since there are no cars anywhere.
